Sewer Scope Inspection in Kirkland and the Eastside

The main sewer line runs underground from the house to the city connection or septic system, so a standard home inspection can’t see it. A sewer scope puts a camera inside that line so you know its condition before you buy.

Why a Sewer Scope Matters

Sewer line repairs are among the most expensive problems a new homeowner can face, and they rarely show any warning signs during a walkthrough. Tree roots, cracked or separated pipe, sagging sections that hold water (“bellies”), and older pipe materials can all lead to backups and costly excavation. Many homes on the Eastside have mature trees and older side sewers, which makes a scope especially worthwhile.

What’s Included

  • A camera inspection of the main sewer line from an accessible cleanout
  • Pipe material identified where visible
  • Roots, cracks, offsets, sags and blockages documented with photos
  • Findings explained in plain language and included with your report

Sewer Scope Cost

A sewer scope is $250 when booked with a home inspection, or $300 on its own. Mileage applies outside Kirkland. See full pricing.

When to Book

Add the sewer scope when you book your home inspection so both are done in the same visit and within your inspection contingency period.
